Training Update – Week 7

week7After a nice rest week, things got back on track and boy did they ever. Mileage wasn’t as high as I would have liked, but the Sunday workouts have been tough in this part of the winter with some kid obligations for C and I.

The 4K swim was pretty epic, and I don’t remember the last time I swam that long. Maybe in 2006 ahead of IM Florida, but I don’t think since. Good times.

It’s been tough balancing the work and training and the family. Most difficult is juggling the early morning work starts. I’m at the point where I am waking up at 4:30A so that I can get most of the workouts done before 8A so that I can still drive to work. What I really need to work on at this point is shortening the time it takes to wake up. I have managed to get it down to about :45, but there’s plenty of room for improvement there.

My car was broken into again, which means that until I get outside on the bike, the mileage on the trainer is going to be off. Oh well.
