Training Update – Week 8

week8Hours and mileage are back up. The only thing missing was my long run on Sunday. Kid obligations for Sundays are done, which mean I can get back to running in the morning and not getting the packed and ready to go first thing Sunday morning.

We’re just about 3 months away from the first race of the season. Very excited, and tickets/lodging is booked. The next couple of weeks should be good tests of where I’m at with the fitness. The FLT test showed me at 260W, which is lower than I would have expected or hoped for. Definitely a sad face on that one. 3.45 W/KG isn’t terrible, but I have my sights set on 4 W/KG. That’s a big ask at this point, and weight loss isn’t going to get me there.

The good news is that I can tell my running is getting faster. With the half marathon coming up in a couple of weeks, we’ll see how much I have improved since last season.
